The Strelitzia nicolai, better known as the White Bird of Paradise, is an elegant and powerful tropical houseplant native to South Africa. With its large, glossy leaves and stately growth, this plant instantly brings a luxurious, natural atmosphere into the home.

Features of the Strelitzia nicolai

• Leaf structure: Large, elongated leaves with a sturdy, leathery texture and elegant arch shape.

• Blooming: The Strelitzia nicolai can develop impressive white flowers with blue accents, but rarely blooms indoors.

• Light: Prefers plenty of bright, indirect light. Avoid bright direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.

• Water: Water regularly, but allow the top layer of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot.

• Temperature: Ideal temperature between 18 °C and 24 °C. Protect from drafts and cold air currents.

• Humidity: Increase humidity by misting the leaves occasionally or using a humidifier.

• Repotting: Repot every 2–3 years in a slightly larger pot to encourage healthy growth.

• Toxicity: The Strelitzia nicolai is slightly toxic to humans and pets. Avoid ingestion of leaves or stems.
