Growth habit:
Clematis 'Jackmanii' is a vigorously growing climbing plant that attaches itself to fences, pergolas, or trellises with its twisting stems. Mature height: up to about 200 cm.

Leaves:
Medium green, slightly glossy leaves create a beautiful decorative contrast with the purple flowers.

Flowers:
Large, single flowers (about 15 cm in diameter) in a deep purple to violet shade. Blooms in May-June, and with good care again in the late summer/autumn.

Hardiness:
Fully hardy. Young plants may benefit from light protection during severe frost.

 Location:
Full sun to partial shade. Soil moisture should not remain too wet, but also not dry out.

Pruning:
Prune after the first bloom in spring for a second blooming period in autumn. Also remove dead or damaged branches.

Watering:
Water regularly during dry periods. Keep the soil evenly moist.

Lightly fertilize in spring with a feed for flowering climbing plants.
